YouTube Music is a new music video streaming service launched by YouTube, a huge subsidiary of Google. It gives an optimized user interface for the music-oriented service, allowing users to surf through music videos and songs on YouTube according to categories, playlists, and personal favorites. The service is free for all registered users. Subscribers can also watch unlimited music videos and music from any type of music source on YouTube. As already mentioned, there are two ways to enjoy the YouTube Music: as online music streams, which is usually free; or, in lieu of purchasing a membership to gain access to the more selective music video websites.
The latest version of YouTube Music is the ios mobile app, designed exclusively for the iPhone. Although there is no official word regarding the release, the app looks quite impressive and it appears that it is very similar to the official YouTube app. The primary difference would be that, the iPhone version of the YouTube music app has been optimized for the smaller screen size of the Apple’s phone, while the official version can run seamlessly across all devices (and operating systems). As such, the ios mobile app might not be compatible with some older (and larger) iPhones, though the streaming service can theoretically be enjoyed on any iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad.
The application works in a very simple manner: users need to login to their YouTube account, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click the “Create Account” link just below the regular subscription service area. After successfully registering, all uploaded videos will appear in the YouTube playlists category, and all subscribers will have the option to either subscribe or unsubscribe from that group. This is just one of the many exciting new features in YouTube Music – subscription service is yet to be launched, while the full list of available songs can be seen in the YouTube channel itself. So for now, those looking for a free way to stream music on the go can take comfort in this latest offering from the streaming music industry’s leading services.
